It’s no secret that I am a die-hard Aveda fan. My friends from college have even been known to call me an “Aveda Snob”, from my repeated enthusiasm for all of the products. I have been getting my hair colored at an Aveda salon since I was 15 years old, and while I have strayed and tried other salons, I always end up coming back. I truly believe that they are one of the only color lines where you leave and your hair is healthier than when you arrived. Their techniques and stylist are trained to always protect the integrity of the hair (even if you’re like me and make outlandish request)
Tip: find a stylist who will tell you no or at least educate you on the process of hair coloring.

Aveda products use naturally derived plant and flower based ingredients. The mission behind Aveda products is one worth reading and can be found here.
It was hard
Air Control Light Hold Hair Spray: this is the holy grail of Aveda products. I have never found another hair spray that compares. Not only does it smell amazing, but it also sprays on dry, therefore it doesn’t end up being sticky. I love to use it before I style my hair and then afterward I layer it for extra hold. If you’re looking for more of a firm hold (and I mean REALLY firm) try the Air Control Firm Hold.
Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo: I have used almost all of the Aveda shampoo and conditioners and there are some I certainly love more than others. I keep coming back to this one for it’s restorative purposes, though. This shampoo really cleanses the hair while also protecting it with quinoa protein to help strengthen and restore damaged hair.
Shampure Dry Shampoo: This one may be a tad controversial. I know some of you have your dry shampoo and will take no prisoners when it comes to defending it, but you need to try this one. This is a powder-based dry shampoo that absorbs excess oil from the hair and scalp with naturally derived powders. Most aerosol dry shampoos really dry my hair out and end up leaving my hair more oily after a few hours. Also, this one will last you WAY longer than the typical spray bottle of dry shampoo. Best part, when you need to replace it you just buy a refill instead of purchasing the entire bottle again.
Shampure Thermal Dry Conditioner: Okay, this one is new to me but now I cannot live without it! If you are not using a dry conditioning spray you 100% need to be, especially if you use heat products to restyle your hair. I use this before blow drying and in between washes when restyling. I typically only apply it to the ends of my hair when using between washes to protect from heat damage. Bonus, it smells AMAZING!
Thickening Tonic: This is a product that I’ve been using for years. Since I have short, fine hair I am always looking for more volume. This product isn’t made to add volume, but it does. It works by expanding the hair strands from root to ends and just provides overall greatness. If you have fine hair like me, you need to try it.

These definitely are not the only Aveda products I use, but I wanted to highlight my top 5. I also love the Smooth Infusion cream before blow drying, the Blue Malva conditioner to prevent brassiness, and the Damage Remedy intensive restructuring treatment. Aveda also has an entire line of skincare, body products, and makeup that I have not fully explored yet but most likely will in the future! Hope you guys enjoyed this and I can’t wait to hear what you think after trying some of my favorite products!
