Happy Friday! I don’t know about ya’ll but I am quite ready for some Mexican food and a margarita (which is our go-to for Friday nights). It’s been a hectic week getting back in the swing of things with my full-time job so I figured I would wrap it up with a few Friday Faves. I follow a few bloggers who will occasionally do a roundup of their “favorite” items. I always think they are so interesting and I especially love when they are random. So, I decided that I would look around my own life and pick 5 random things I’m loving at the moment. Here goes…
There’s actually a story behind this one. After a few margaritas on one of our weekly Mexican food date nights (this is a theme), I fell prey to the extra creepy Instagram ad. You know the ones. The ones where you’re like, “um excuse me, nobody gave you permission to snoop in on my personal convos and then put an ad on my Insta!” For real, this is creepy and we should be talking about it more often. Let’s save that for a different day. Basically, I had been talking to a friend about good sunless tanners to use at the beach. Then lo and behold the next night a Supergoop Sunless Tanner ad pops up on my feed. So I ordered it and figured I’d at least try it. Needless to say, it lived up to the hype. I tested it out at home first because I was skeptical. The consistency is more of a sunscreen and sort of even smells like sunscreen. It comes out white, goes on smoothly like a lotion, then gradually gets darker. I used it every single day at the beach and it did not streak with the salt water like most other self-tanners. It also has SPF 50 in it so, win-win. HIGHLY, recommend using this if you’re going to be in the water. It’s a little pricey for the bottle given that you have to use more than you would if you were using, for instance, the St. Tropez foam (which is my everyday go to).
Told ya’ll this was a random list! A friend of mine actually turned me on to these when she brought them to the pool one day. They are an excellent healthy alternative to a regular chip or even some of the so-called “healthy chips”. I’ve not tried the other flavors but I love the white cheddar!
3. GloPRO Microneedling Regeneration Tool
This honestly could have an entire blog post to itself. If I ever get around to doing a skincare post this will 100% be on there. I recommend just going to beautybio.com and learning all about the GloPRO tool. They will explain it much better than I. I had my eye on this for a while but wasn’t ready to drop over $200 on a random skincare product. After doing lots of research and reading numerous testimonials I finally decided to give it a try. I AM SO OBSESSED. Currently, I have the GloPRO tool, body attachment, body cream, The Nightly serum, and the cleanser. It has changed the texture of my skin and helped with fine lines around my face. I could immediately tell that my makeup went on smoother and didn’t crease throughout the day as much near as much. Also, founder Jamie O’Banion is literally a real-life Barbie (definately follow her Instagram).
I realize that I am a little behind on this one, since the movie is already out. BUT, I still love sharing book recommendations. I got this one from one of my favorite bloggers, Emilyn Wilkinson over at lifewithemilyblog.com. She does AMAZING book reviews each month and they have never let me down. Once I saw the previews for this movie I knew I had to read the book before going to see it. I finished this book within one week, it was that good. So, if you’re like me and absolutely have to read the book before the movie, get on it. I’m already on the second book of the trilogy!
Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy (3 Book Series)
5. The Morning Toast podcast
And last, but certainly not least, my newest obsession with The Morning Toast podcast. I am a big podcast listener but sometimes when they are too serious I get too sucked in and get annoyed when I have to get in and out of the car during my work day while traveling between schools. That being said, I typically like to listen to news/gossip/talk show podcasts. I stumbled upon The Morning Toast and listened to that days episode. To be honest, I was not loving it at first. It took listening to the entire episode for a few days, and now I am in love. They have coined the show as, “The millennial morning show”. The show covers the big news stories of the day while also recapping KUWTK, Real Housewives, etc. The show airs on it’s YouTube channel at 10:00am central and the podcast usually goes live around noon-1:00pm. I typically am listening to the show from the day before or in the afternoon on my way home from work. Jackie and Claudia are real life sisters but have such a hilarious dynamic. Give it a try if you need a good laugh in the mornings and maybe you’ll become a Toaster like me!
Hope you enjoyed these Five Friday Faves! Gotta go get that marg now, BYEEE!
