A Disco Bachelorette Party in Destin, FL

Whew, what a September it’s been already! I can’t believe it’s already almost Fall when it feels like it was just March. The Fall is always super busy for us and it started off with a bang by celebrating my best friend’s (Barbara) bachelorette party in Destin, FL.

A little backstory: Barbara and I have known each other since before we actually met in person at Louisiana Tech. It’s a long story involving MySpace and a mutual male friend…anyway, we met in college, became sorority sisters and have been best friends since. She lives in New Orleans and is a physical therapist, which is how she met her beau, Matt. This bride has had to move her wedding three times now and we did not want to delay celebrating her any longer, so we went ahead with the bachelorette party and I couldn’t be happier that we did. It was such a nice getaway and I know it made our sweet bride so happy to be celebrated! Here’s a little recap of our weekend in Destin, FL….

Thursday: everyone arrived, settled in, and unpacked. We used Instacart to have all of the groceries delivered (including alcohol) which was a HUGE time saver. An even bigger time saver was having Mingle30A decorate the house before we arrived. Since half of us were flying in, this was an amazing way to not have to pack tons of decor. They did an amazing job and were so nice and easy to work with! Also, shoutout to BrantPoint Prep for designing these huggers. Check them out on Instagram @brantpointprep or their Etsy shop.

Then we all got ready to head to the beach that evening for an AMAZING beach bonfire, set up by 30A Blaze. I had never done a beach bonfire before and I knew it would be a perfect way to kick off the trip. We brought some boxed wine, had pizzas delivered to the beach, and danced around our bonfire while making s’mores. Definitely check them out if you’re in the Destin/30A area. They set everything up for you (chairs, fire, s’mores supplies, table, etc.) and it even comes with a bonfire attendant (shoutout to Zach!) Check out their website here and on Instagram @30ablaze

Friday: We spent the entire day at the beach gearing up for our 70s night. The bride had the idea for a 70s/Disco themed bachelorette party after seeing the Big Little Lies episode where they have a Disco party! Everyone had free reign to show off their best 70s costume and, of course, two of our best friends had us dying laughing at their Austin Powers and Dr. Evil costumes which were a complete surprise, haha!

Saturday: The morning was all about recovery and a lingerie shower/brunch before getting ready for Crab Island. We spent most of the day at Crab Island having a blast before heading back to the house to get ready for our sparkly night out!

TIP: With a group of 13, it was easier to have things catered to the house rather than try and go out to eat. We had fajitas (and margs) catered from Cantina Laredo one night, Another Broken Egg catered for brunch, and ate leftover fajitas another night.

Sunday: Since this was our last day, we didn’t make any plans and decided to hang at the beach and by the pool. Half of the girls went to dinner and the other half ordered pizza for dinner (there was a LOT of pizza eaten on this trip, ha!)

This was my first beach bachelorette party and I would highly recommend! The beach is basically a built in activity, plus our house had a pool, so everyone stayed entertained and there wasn’t too much activity planning to do! Check out the list of vendors that I worked with to make this bachelorette trip exceptional, plus the AMAZING VRBO we stayed in!
